Drunk Girl Interviewed at Cubs Opening Day

Acute Dupitis (Sift Talk Post)

kronosposeidon says...

On point 1, I've also thought about us having a free, automatic 1-hr promote for the original. However, the problem with any promote scheme like this is that there are numerous dupes every day, and I'd hate to see even more *promotes on the front page than there already are.

On point 2, I don't think anyone wants to see a queue spot of theirs occupied by a killed dupe.

And you didn't mention this but I'd like to say this to everyone anyway: if a video in the Top 15 is a dupe, *dupeof it right away, please. I know some say that we should leave it there for a little while so the original can get more votes when *dupeof is finally invoked, so the sentiment is nice. However, leaving a dupe sit in the Top 15 blocks a spot for another video that could be in the Top 15, but instead it stays stuck at #16, maybe never breaking in to the Top 15 because of the dupe. So please do the *dupeof right away, please?

An important message from Batman (Blog Entry by Sarzy)

Batman is probably my second favorite superhero, right after the Amazon princess. I don't compare superheroes with characters from other genres, like horror, science fiction, etc, because they're apples and oranges. He's not my second overall comic book character, but he's still high up. Do you read the new Batman & Robin, with Dick Grayson as the new Batman? I think it's pretty good.

And I read The Dark Knight Returns, and thought it blew. I can't stand Frank Miller, especially his Batman comics. Read this amusing critique of one of his Batman series. He deserves every bit of scorn heaped on him in that scathing review. >> ^Sarzy:

Batman is the greatest comic book character of all time. Of all time!
Yeah, that's right, I said it.

DSOTM is basically 2 long songs, but I hear what you're saying. Also, I notice that if I listen to a Floyd album these days it tends to be Animals, WYWH, or Meddle before DSOTM. I might have played that one out too, but it's still absolutely fantastic. Off and on over the years I used to play "Echoes" at bedtime if I was having trouble falling asleep, so that might be the Floyd song I've heard the most. Now the only music accessible in my bedroom is a clock radio, so I haven't done that in awhile.

Wow. Switch that 2nd place tie with the first place pick and we're one in the same. Yea "Wish You Were Here" and "Animals" are, by far, their best albums. Of course Dark Side Of the Moon is in there too, but I think I've just been played out of that one. There's something about 10+ minute songs that take you on that journey.

I haven't heard anything after The Wall (except for Division Bell which BLOWS). Hard to believe they're the same band.

My favorite is Dark Side of the Moon, making me part of the herd, I suppose. Tied for second would be Wish You Were Here and Animals, followed by Meddle, then The Wall, and beyond that you probably don't care, though I'll tell you if you want to know. Least favorite would probably be More or Obscured By Clouds.

What's yours?
