Hulu Tube: Phasinig You Out of YouTube

grubert says...

I use to make loads of cash out of YouTube, but not anymore.
All those tricks I used to have my videos showing up on the front page are now useless.
YouTube and Google seems to favor large broadcasting corporations over the little guys like me.
It's like I live in a country where business is more important than everything else.
This sucks.

I'm gonna have a beer now.

The fridge is empty.

Bummer.

Guy (with nice scarf) couldn't have a worse time on a bus

grubert says...

Pity we're showing this here. The video was leaked on Facebook by one of the police officers who was working on the case. Faces weren't blurred. It is therefore illegal to broadcast it, in France anyway. YouTube and Dailymotion complied and removed the video. The police officer has since been suspended.
This was all over the French media recently. One of the reasons was conservative/far right politicians and newspapers tried to hijack the debate on urban violence and use this video as an evidence that immigrants (or French youth of African origin) are dangerous. The main victim, a student, refused to become the face of the far right racist agenda, said he's recovering well from the attack but was upset the video was released.

BreaksTheEarth: Four years ago, in London near where I live, a passenger of the 43 bus was stabbed to death because he told his killer to stop shouting insults at his girlfriend. Will this go onto your list of why you like London?

New footage of Neil Armstrong's first step on the moon

grubert says...

This is absolutely awesome. I especially like the way Armstrong delivers his now legendary words, then proceeds to analyze the ground and the crater left by the Eagle. After being the first human to step on the f***ing Moon! How unbelievably professional!
I agree with StukaFox, this is what the USA can achieve when at its best. 400,000 Americans, men and women, working together for a decade to land men on the Moon. The 21st of July this year will be the 40th anniversary of the Moon landing. I think it would be a nice symbol if your president announced then he's set a new goal for your country, something of the same scale, be it the conquest of Mars, the cure for cancer or the development of a new, clean energy like cold fusion. I guess that would be enough to reconcile the United States with the rest of the world, and forget about the last eight years of mayhem.
Sorry for being so lyrical, I'm not drunk!

Deranged Penguin Heads Toward Certain Death

grubert says...

Tells you a lot about our various cultures:
- When an American thinks of a penguin, he imagines a tap-dancing baby penguin.
- When a Frenchman thinks of a penguin, he imagines lots of penguins making baby penguins.
- When a German thinks of a penguin, he ponders about certain death.
