noam chomsky-how climate change became a liberal hoax
Whenever life conjures up bad news I want Chomsky to deliver it to me. He has such a relaxing manner, even when explaining how the world has gone to hell.
Is This The Luckiest Car Crash Ever? Probably The Scariest!
Every time I sit through one of these crash videos, I just wish I could change the music they're playing.
Mourdock gets his ass handed to him by Righteous Woman
Another politician pandering to the religious vote? Anyone who uses god or faith in matters that can be better explored through logic, reason, understanding and compassion, is not worthy of your vote or time (IMHO).
Booyah!!!
Let Condorman show you how it's done.
Very Strange Dancing Girl.
Reminds me of the night I had at a club near Chernobyl.
BEER To The Rescue
Throwing beer at my problems never ends so well for me.
japan builds its first real mech - kuratas
A mech needs the ability to stomp on its fallen enemies. Not roll over them like a death bringing shopping cart.
Man "forgotten" in DEA custody for 5 days
This won't be a cheap mistake.
Clued-up Cyclist vs. Clueless Cop.
This clip's an utter embarrassment to both men.
A policeman isn't a legal expert and it would be unfair to expect them to be. But he should at least have a basic understanding of the laws he's routinely enforcing and the ability should be there to communicate them. This here was appallingly bad.
I notice the guy on the bike didn't comment on the allegation or provide us with the footage of him going through the lights. And the policeman would have no reason to lie over something so trivial. So I'll assume a strong possibilty he jumped them. Then he uses his legal knowledge from the get go in an effort to wriggle out of dealing with the issue of guilt, which sadly the policeman is ill equipped to handle. It bugs me when the issue of right and wrong gets sidelined for who's best at playing the game.
But at least it saved this guy a ticket and the tale probably scored him kudos with his law student buddies. Amazes me that he'd want to share it with the rest of us though.
Wouldn't it have been a far better situation if the cyclist had apologised, accepted his mistake, and the policman had used his discretionary powers to simply ask him to be a little more careful.
A sketch written by the great John Cleese himself!
I can't help but feel this is not John Cleese's best work.
AH-64 Apache helicopter crash in Sharana, Afghanistan
I wonder if they're at altitude and the low density air just didn't provide the lift the pilot was expecting. An expensive bit of showing off whatever.
Good Reason To Wear Leather Pants
Dress for the slide, not for the ride.
Santorum: I Don't Believe in Separation of Church and State
"...the America that made the greatest country in the history of the world"
These type of comments always seem to stem from overzealous patriotism, obnoxious hubris or political pandering to voters. It's a big world out there, I always wonder how well travelled the people who make such claims are.
Nice Optical Illusion in Paris
That's no lawn. That's a space station.
Movie Theater turns angry voicemail into win.
>> ^alizarin:
Talking and texting during movies is dickish. Kicking people out without warning and no refund for using their phone's screen to find their seat is dickish. Can't people find a middle ground like one warning and you're kicked out with a refund?
Alamo Drafthouse claim she persisted to text despite two warnings, so I think they were pretty reasonable here.
It's been a few years since I've been to the theatre, mainly because it's easy to throw together a decent home cinema together for little money these days. The other reason is, unless the cinema is very quiet, you can almost guarantee someone's inconsiderate behaviour is going to piss you off. Talking, texting, eating loudly, knocking seats, throwing popcorn....Having said that, if my local theatre was less like a kids nursery and more like the Alamo Drafthouse, they'd see my money again. Still the best way to watch a movie.
