Kent Hovind explains dinosaurs and creationist theories

HorsSujet says...

I saw it to the end dotdute. Some parts are too long, for instance when a lot of single instances of "conclusive evidence" of the coexistence of dinosaurs and humans goes on and on although one generally has the point.

Kent Hovind explains dinosaurs and creationist theories

I put the video up, Ogre. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to explain my tags. The reasoning is basically that the presentation he makes is skewed rather than well executed. He makes wild claims by taking evidence completely out of context and takes his own wild claims so seriously. He mistakes silence on the part of "establishment scientists as acquiesence. I can imagine their flabbergasted expressions and dumbfounded silence...

What happens when you put a slice of ham in a CD Player?

HorsSujet says...

Right on, blankman and dag! In fact, I've often wondered how come no one has ever created a channel of only-japanese shows subtitled for international audiences the way Italian, French, German, Arabic, and other channels are available for international audiences.

HorsSujet says...

North Korea is by no means the only odious totalitarian regime around, but it does seem to be the only one with this fixation on group gymnastics. Anybody know if there is a cultural reason for this, or is it just that Kim Yong Il has a thing for gymnastics?

John Stewart comments about Crossfire (funny)

That time when Stewart went on Crossfire was one of the best moments on american television. Stewart really told it to them like it is, and it would be cool if someone could find that clip and link to it here.

In many ways, the today show, with Steven Colbert doing his Bill O'Reilly imitations, is a mirror which shows just how distorted television has become with the distinction between "reporting", "entertaining", and "cheerleading" becoming increasingly blurred, especially on Fox, but more and more also on mainstream channels.

God's Next Army - A Documentary

HorsSujet says...

How many can speak a foreign language? How many have ever been out of the country? How many know someone from a different culture? How many have ever taken personal responsibilities beyond respecting taboos? What kind of a learning environment is a fanatical-technocrat factory? The whole point of being in a diverse environment is to be able to defend your beliefs in the face of differences of opinion, not to merely learn rethorical techniques to impose them in the public arena...

Besides, what kind of badge of safety is it that someone has been homeschooled? Sure, the public education system in the US is a disgrace, but does putting a child's education entirely in the hands of parents who aren't necessarily qualified and who mix a lot of different functions (isn't part of the point of having teachers to learn to interact with adults who aren't related to you) guarantee a well rounded education?
