This moment seemed pretty petty to me.

I get you're angry, and you've got plenty of reason to be angry, he broke the law repeatedly, sneered at attempted enforcement, then rigged his own trial and everyone on the Republican side, including Roberts went along with it. Effectively the United States now is no longer a Democracy. When Democratic institutions intended to deal with abuses of power are perverted to the extent where they are effectively meaningless it doesn't matter whether a leader was elected or not, he is a dictator.

I expect the results of the election this fall won't matter. He'll just sit in the White House and claim victory, forcing a court challenge where he has all his soldiers lined up in judicial robes ready to do his bidding.

America has fallen and the Republic of Trump has taken its place.

Tearing up speeches isn't going to change that. Either fight, or try to win enough support that he can't reasonably claim victory in the fall. This only helps to alienate some who might be on the fence you know Fox is going to run with "Look, Pelosi's no better, see, she's a partisan hack!"

He's not intelligent enough.

He's just doing what he's always done. When caught, lie and count on your privilege as a rich white man to save you. In America it works, and he's hardly the only one getting by this way.

It just shows what many of us knew all along. Senate Republicans will soon swear to God something that is completely untrue.

God is just another scam to them. They pretend to be deeply religious because it gains them power, but the instant it becomes inconvenient, they have no trouble betraying what they claim are their most deeply held convictions.

I think of "Michael Bay"ishness as a bad thing in movies.

Explosions for no reason. Narrative leaps that make no sense except to get to the next action. Plot only serves as a device to get from one explosion/action scene to the next with no character development or originality whatsoever.

If you've outgrown your teens and still like Michael Bay, I honestly feel pity for you. There is a world of brilliant filmmaking out there you're missing for this immature pablum.

To paraphrase, another film: Mr. Bay, what you've just made is one of the most insanely idiotic movies I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent film were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational plot. Everyone in this theatre is now dumber for having watched to it. I award you no stars, and may God have mercy on your soul.

There's no guarantee he lived. Burns are nasty and patients can die of infection days or weeks after the initial burn.

Not one of them would even notice if you took half their money away and cooked the books so the numbers looked the same.

They can still buy megayachts, private jets, mansions all over the world with 20 billion instead of 40.

In fact, many studies have shown that they would actually be happier if much of their money was taxed away. To most of these people money is an addiction. It's as destructive as most other addictions, driving family and friends away, ruining relationships, and isolating the individual with the addiction. More money will never make them happy for long, it will only make them want even more to get that sweet dopamine hit.

I say if they've got Billionaires this upset they must be doing something right!

It's too bad the next, or even the current generation is so far away from having power as the boomers seem determined to wring every fucking dollar they can from the planet as if the Earth is disposable and the money is somehow useful where they're going.

Be honest. If a Republican-led impeachment inquiry into Obama were stormed by Democrats blatantly ignoring security, house rules, and common decency simply so they could delay the inevitable and disrupt a democratic process, how would you feel?

(I expect if he's actually honest, the answer would come out something like Westley when he answered Count Rugen when he asked how having a year of his life sucked away felt)
