*loud tag?

I've come across a few videos which have an abnormally high volume lately, and it got me contemplating if it was worthwhile to have a *loud tag to serve a similar purpose as *nsfw. Just to give you the heads up before you hit play that you might want to turn down the speakers a touch. Also handy for those videos that have a sudden loud moment.

Just throwing this out there to see what others think.

well i actually agree with you overcast. The videos we get coming through here all have different volumes and some you have to turn up to hear at one point and then something loud happens. I don't see a problem in putting a little warning to let the patrons of this site know.

Just turn your volume down.

That's the equivalent of, if there were no NSFW tag, telling people "Just don't watch offensive or inappropriate videos." There isn't necessarily any way to know they're going to be offensive or inappropriate until you play them. Likewise, there isn't any way to know a video is going to be way too loud until you play it. It's all about giving people the heads-up.

I'm with dag, just write "LOUD" somewhere in the tags or the description. Otherwise it's just another invocation for people to abuse. I see the "Wtf" tag mercilessly invoked too often; I don't want to see people invoke "Loud" for anything above conversational volume. What precisely is "Loud" anyway? What may be loud to me might not be loud to someone else. Way too subjective.

No "Loud" tag, please.

And before someone tries to argue that "NSFW" is also subjective and yet we use it, I'll point out now that NSFW is a LOT less subjective than Loud. The so-called "7 words", nudity, and graphic violence are generally understood to be NSFW, while very few people will agree exactly when the "Loud" threshold has been crossed.

Again, no "Loud" tag, please.
