Videosift Blues
Is there a way the charters can change the 3.0 blue in their personal preferences? I can't read the fine prints without squinting up to the screen.

hmm, you can change your background color in your profile for the whole site. Is it the blue text that is hard to read?
I know it varies from monitor to monitor - but is it too light for anyone else?
it is very ZINGY. the smallprint is not comfy.
it's even worse on mac gamma.
i normally make smallprint darker and less saturated than the "official" colour to compensate for this. then it looks like the "official" colour (when surrounded by white and antialiased)
Yes, I find that the blues are too light to read comfortably, and I would definitely prefer the grey for the description fields to be black as well. Lighter colors just make everything harder to read.
weeeell great idea, in theory, but actually it doesn't work very much: http://looris.net/~looris/salcazzo/videosift%20blues.jpeg
If you like folks to hang out and sift a long time, you might want to think about darkening the texts. Last night I sifted all evening and it became increasingly difficult to read the blue text.
Also, when I tried to improve things for myself by messing w/ the preferences, I picked a nice tan background, but that made reading the blue text under comment boxes impossible.
It's a beautiful blue and I would keep it within the scheme, but definitely please think of some complementary colors that's more eye friendly to read.
I forgot how to show a screen like that, good. Looris show a screen that has commenting w/ that tan behind it ? It looks like you picked the same tan.
I tend to agree with swampgirl. It's on the border of acceptability but certainly the older you are the worse it will be. I'm approaching middle-age (oh the optimism) and I have poor eyesight - if I'm getting tired I compensate by making the text bigger (ctrl+ in Firefox) but I would consider making any small text darker in colour.

Anyone have a suggestion for a better color to replace the blue?
Military green and orange.
I think a slightly darker shade of blue would be nice. There I said it.
If you're using Firefox (as everyone should , you should take a look at the "Stylish"-extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108
It lets you customize everything (CSS related) on the page, not only colours
but it could mean having to edit A LOT of colors. can be boring. still a nice idea, though.
Tan and a nice cornflower blue is pleasent... but have a much darker color brown or black lining/outlining things to anchor it down. Make the small print dark.
What color is this now? Cyan, Aqua? It's a great color, but it's more suited to be a accessory color. If you're set on keeping it, then let it contrast with a darker color font on those tabs up there. The white letters on top of the blue should be changed to that color as well.
Hey guys (admins)..
Anymore thoughts to this topic? The colors?

We are looking at it. We may be able to shift it down a notch.
my geezer 2¢... can't read the smaller white type in the blue, OR the same blue type on white in the smaller sizes. Lazy, I don't want to have to change my settings every time I visit a site.
I do have a tendency to increase the font size when I'm not wearing my spectacles.
Ever considered site-wide user style sheets?
