Ignore Feature Requests
So, apparently I've picked up a nemesis on here in one of the people with the ability to down vote. I have them on ignore, but I am getting email alerts and "experiencing" their presence on the sift despite ignore.
So a few feature additions to ignore I think would be helpful to actually effectively ignore this person.
1) Their voting activity, specifically all of the down votes this person likes to leave on my comments. I always get suckered into checking who down voted to see if some follow up post may be directed at me in a discussion but I'm not quoted or otherwise addressed......to find out it's the nemesis. Although I'd like to see it extended to all of their voting on videos, other people comments, my comments, etc. Just their name stricken forever on anything I look at would be wonderful.
2) Their video submissions, I am not saying I don't wish to see the videos. I just would like to be deprived of the knowledge of who uploaded it if it's one of my ignored persons. Because if I ever get the ability to down vote, it's going to be an automatic down vote if I see the nemesis listed as submitter out of principle. However if it's easy to just block their submissions totally, that's also fine with me. I found the place much more pleasant when said nemesis was missing for awhile, so I'd like to get that pleasantness back with an improved ignore functionality.
3) Ignored people triggering email alerts when they quote and/or otherwise invoke your name with the @ ..... can we turn that off? I like being updated when people I actually don't mind hearing from say something, but I've got the guy on ignore for a reason and I don't see any way to stop ignored people from triggering the email alerts.

RyjkyjAlso, the bagels you provide on bagel-Thursdays are really just glorified dinner rolls with seeds on them. I'd personally not even like to have bagel-Thursdays if they're not going to be kosher. Maybe we could use the money for something else? Like some decent f-ing coffee?

lucky7601) Usernames of ignored members will now no longer be displayed when you hover over your comment up/down arrows.
2) I don't think we'll remove usernames from display as video submitter. We'll do our best to allow you to ignore them from interacting with you, but not from erasing their existence altogether (mainly for technical reasons).
Note that the plan you described is explicitly against the VideoSift guidelines and could get you banned. You cannot down-vote any video just because you don't like the submitter. All video down-votes must be cast based solely on the content of the video.
3) Good point. Thanks for pointing that out. You will now no longer receive emails when someone you're ignoring quotes you, replies to you, mentions you with @, or posts a comment on your profile or on a post or playlist you have bookmarked.

I never used to use the Ignore feature -- I had a Calvinist streak that said I must suffer in payment for my pleasure.
Now I use it all the time, and my pleasure has just increased.

There should be an achievement. Most Ignored Comments Read.
