Comedy Central & Canadians

Some requests to those who post content from Comedy Central - especially 'popular' clips like those featured on The Daily Show & The Colbert Report:

1) Comedy Central is *blocked. Until vids submitted from Comedy Central are automatically tagged with the *blocked invocation, please take the 0.5 seconds and do it yourself.

2) Please post the original date of broadcast in the description. This makes it easier for Canucks to search and find content for The Daily Show (http://watch.thecomedynetwork.ca/the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart/full-episodes) or The Colbert Report (http://watch.thecomedynetwork.ca/the-colbert-report/full-episodes/)

3) If a fellow Canadian does seek out and watch the clip in question, take an additional 3 seconds and post the link in a comment so others can bask in its visual glory.

Thanks =)

The same ought to be done with Hulu embeds and adultswim (which I'm mostly to blame for myself).

Adultswim is divided into two channels Adultswim.com and Adultswim.co.uk one works in europe and one in America. .com usually has all the videos that are on co.uk, so you can find equivalents there.

Actually it seems that ALL Viacom networks (Comedy Central, MTV, Spike, etc.) are blocked in Canada. That's why you, a dirty Canadian, also can't see any MTV music videos unless you're using a VPN. Word on the street is that videos from Viacom networks are also blocked in the UK now. Another blow for total access.

Given the situation with Viacom, Hulu, AdultSwim, and other video hosts, all I can suggest is what dag already suggested almost a year ago: Start using a VPN. I don't like that it's come down to this, but unless you're not bothered by seeing video after video being region-blocked, a VPN is probably your best bet.

SlipperyPete has already been awarded a star point for this post - ignoring quality request by kronosposeidon.

I find meatbag kronosposeidon to be an inadequate command-giver - ignoring all requests by kronosposeidon.

I use a VPN at home, but here at work I cannot.

Not that I'm watching videos at work. Cuz I'm not. I'm just here to read the comments. And look at video thumbnails.

-Another alternative is to ignore comedy central altogether. For Canadians, simply pay the networks mule for delivery by dish. After a few years watching what is "siftworthy" according to the majority of users here, it seems that pay-tv has the so-deemed, "best of content on the internet." Bleeegh!
