$7.5 Trillion for a Transitional Fossil
If you have a Transitional Fossil lying around your house, fellow Sifters, you might be in luck. Why? Because a Turkish Creationist is offering up that amount of money to anyone that can show him one that proves evolution.
Which fossil would you take to him? I mean, out of the two or three that's out there.
I'd probably show up with Tiktaalik roseae.

But seriously, how about showing him a duck-billed platypus. Or maybe a carnivorous plant? Not that they're transitional by nature, but I want someone to refute evolution based on the belief that God created plants that eat insects, or a venomous mammal who lays eggs and looks like five animals put together.
That guy is going to be writing a lot of checks.

You sound confused. If you believe in creation, why not just come right out and say it?
to provide "proof" is to offer mathematics that can back up a theory.
Meanwhile this guy's proof is a book...and the book is right because said book says so.
Take your pick! There's plenty of transitional fossils in the evolution of...
whales...
butterflies (albeit quite recent evolution)...
and, well, how about the transitional forms from amphibians to reptiles, reptiles to mammals, reptiles to birds, and primate evolution... HERE
I mean, these include, but are not limited to:
Thrinaxodon
Proterogyrinus
Limnoscelis
Exaeretodon
Adelobasileus cromptoni
The famous Archeopteryx lithographica
Sinornis santensis
Aegyptopithecus
Australopithecus afarensis
...and I'm tired of pasting links. There's gotta be a catch here somewhere, because as demonstrated here, there are thousands of transitional fossils in the fossil record.
It's really $7.5 Million, because Adnan Oktar ( the same guy who had the Richard Dawkins web site blocked by the government of Turkey) is using Turkish Lira (TRL), not New Turkish Lira (TRY), the new ones are worth 1,000,000 of the old.
He has not really set any rules for what qualifies, or how to win the prize, it's pure P.R. stunt.
How about the group that actually witnessed evolution occur under laboratory conditions in bacteria?

They could use that money to do more research.
Well, how are they defining a "transitional fossil"?
Every fossil is transitional, but only in a tiny degree.
Doesn't look like anyone's going to get that hard moneys now. It appears that the man has gone to jail for "creating an illegal organization for personal gain".

every single fossil is a transitional fossil...thats the great thing about creationists-every time a new "transitional fossil" pops up they now have two more "gaps" to use in their "argument" against evolution.
