Although the occasional 1-night coke-binge with a side of XTC and an O.C. to calm down, I find alcohol to be the most frequent of my drug experiences. Mainly because of accessibility but also because doing harder stuff too often can just make somebody a shitty human...

Drug of Choice - High on Life, Sappy but true.

I've been around drugs all my life; I've seen what it does!
After watching family members give in to drugs early I made my decission early to just walk away from them.
I've seen more Bud in my youth that most of you will see in a lifetime and saw the troubles that it can get you. (not to mention, Speed, Shrooms, Coke, Alcohol, inhalents, PAM cooking spray, gasoline, Bleach and more...)

Like all drugs, you make me feel better.

I chose alcohol, because that's the only one of the choices I really indulge in once in a while. Usually with disastrous results.

I would if I knew how - but I was only given 5 slots...I'm just a lowly silver star.

Also, I DID think of Videosift (I created the poll in the wee hours of the night), but I knew it would stomp all challengers. It's kinda obvious - if you're reading this you partake in Videosift...

*Really shoulda thought of that coffee/tea though*

I'm a drinker, but I prefer weed. Every once in a blue moon I'll smoke a bowl or two with friends. I just don't want to worry about being busted for possession. Having kids really cramps your druggin'.

I hear ya - I once saw my son after smoking a joint, and it just freaked me out. Only partake after he's in bed or sleeping over somewhere else.

The *drugs I use most are coffee, marijuana, alcohol, benzodiazepines (valium, xanax etc.), in frequency of use respectively.

The drugs that have given me the most profound experiences are:
Salvia (legal), LSD, MDMA (XTC), DPT, 2c-i/2c-e, psilocybin mushrooms. I have tried nitrous (N2O)(legal) in combination with all except for Salvia and DPT and let me tell you that nitrous boosts them to a whole new, though sadly very fleeting, level for a few minutes.

I really want to have a good mescaline experience. But my last attempts at consuming the most horrid, bitter, slimy, and vomit inducing cactus goop only yielded threshold experiences. I really need to do an extraction on cactus and get some crystal mescaline for a measured and less yucky dose.

Another drug I really want to try is DMT or ayahuasca. Ayahuasca, though also reportedly horribly disgusting, is easily made out of legal plants and DMT can be extracted from them.

Yes I consider myself quite a psychonaut. I do thoroughly research these drugs before use and consider myself a responsible drug user. I only use these psychedelics very infrequently, like once every 3 months or so. They are quite self limiting.

Care to give any good arguments in support of that statement? Do your research and you will see that none of these drugs have proven harmful in moderation in any scientific test done upon them. Many psychedelic drugs have been responsibly used in psychiatric trials with little to no ill effects.

From my list I bet alcohol and the tobacco part of wacky tabacky have done the most damage to me.

Yea how are you going to post a poll and honest forum for discussion and then blast somebody for their answer? Sounds pretty effed up to me. So, no offense, but I think you just posted this poll so that you can talk about that one puff you took while you were at the "Pink Floyd Reunion Tour"

That kind of judgement really turns me off.

You don't know all the answers and your way isn't the only way.

Some of us need drugs and you can scoff at that all you want, and we need them primarily to put up with people who think like you.

cybrbeast says...

I wouldn't go as far as to say that I need these drugs. I need these drugs as bad as I need a holiday or as much as I need time to relax, play a game, read a book, and surf the web. None of these activities are vital, though all enrich my life to a certain degree. And I would say that some of the experiences drugs have given me, rank amongst the most meaningful and profound in my life. It's a great way to explore and ponder the workings of one's own psyche.

rougy says...

It is a hard thing to say, but yes, I need drugs sometimes.

Sometimes I need a beer. Sometimes I need a shot of tequila or scotch. Sometimes I just need a little buzz. Sometimes I want to tie one on and get a little crazy.

Weed especially helps me and I need that. It picks me up and gives my world a different perspective. It puts me into the groove and everything I do, whether it's writing poetry, drawing cartoons, or washing the dishes, becomes a little more magical. And I hate having to sneak around to find it.

LSD, shrooms, ex, yeah, I need those sometimes, too. I need to get away and get out. I need a peek into the other side.

Weed does tend to enhance your natural talents and abilities. I remember when I used to smoke daily. I'd pack a bowl before going into a calculus exam. It really lets you "see" things that may not be apparent. Once you're in that groove you're unstoppable. Unfortunately it can lead to complacency and general laziness (at least in me). I'm kind of glad I quit, but it'd be nice to have that ability on occasion. Plus I miss how music sounds while I'm on it, the best ever...maybe with the exception of LSD but you're pretty much useless on that.

Same thing here (minus the kids). I drink frequently and only smoke once in a while, but I prefer the high from weed as a general rule (though I love good beers so much...gonna have some Victory Prima Pilsener tonight, yay).

Not that all of these are in my rotation, but asking "which is your favorite" is kinda like asking "what's your favorite aspect of life?". Each state of mind is useful/entertaining and valuable; each is a part of the same puzzle.

Oh, and I think that the upcoming perfect poll should substitute "psychedelics", yes the entire pantheon, for "shrooms".
Oh+, don't forget to add "food". All of us use this to modulate our mental state, whether we have noticed it yet or not.

I DID say no offense...but since you want some clarification...

Evil Knievel considers himself quite a motorist. He thoroughly researches his stunts before he performs them, much like you research your drugs. Evil Knievel only performs his stunts very infrequently, just like you. Evil Knievel's stunts are very self-limiting, just like your drug experiences.

I would also add that on a relative scale, I would equate my ganja use to a leisurely country drive, while I would equate your lsd and benzodiaphragm trips to jumping over 12 flaming schoolbuses on a motorcycle.

And when I said no offense, I did mean it. So chill the fuck out.

No one has the right to not be offended.

No, I DON'T know all the answers. I KNOW my way isn't the only way. I;m not scoffing at anyone (trust me, I need my drugs sometimes too).

You have no idea how I think.

That's a very nice way of putting it. I agree wholeheartedly.

cybrbeast says...

Just saying no offense before you say something doesn't just make everything you say okay. I would say some of the drugs I've used can give you quite an extreme and earth shattering experience, BUT time and again they have been proven not to be deadly or harmful. It is easier to overdose and die from alcohol than most of these drugs. So in that respect it's quite unlike Evil Knievel, because his stunts actually had quite some chance of death and I'm sure he knew this as well.

No offense, but you need to chill the fuck out, we were just engaging in debate on the basis of your statement.
