This week at E3

It was fun.  Not very packed at all.  I was pleasantly surprised and delighted to spend as much time as I wanted on a lot of the demos.

Cool skateboarding game with a wireless skateboard controller that had all kinds of sensors. Media cut in front of me right as I was about to step on, though, bastards.

Here's the game I'm reeeaaaallllyyyy looking forward to, after playing it for nearly an hour at the booth: Prototype. All the controls were fluid, you could scale walls, jump off, glide down, target people, pick them up, jump back into the air with them, then use them as projectile weapons.  Everyone that I went with who got to play said it's exactly how every "superhero" should feel.

We played Jumpgate for a while.  One of the few MMOs I will end up playing, but only because it's a space sim that, so far, plays much better than Eve.  God, I fucking hate Eve, yet I love space sims.  Please, Jumpgate, be the one.

Batman: Arkham Asylum looks cool, as does the new Mario Bros... these conventions cause my brain to hibernate, because it's just BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM -- plus when you're traveling in a group you tend to get stuck in spots. Also, it's 4 o'clock in the morning and I just remembered I have a blog now.  lol

Oh oh oh, and Brutal fuckin' Legend was hilarious and action-packed with evil nuns that ride vehicles that walk up mountains of skulls.  Can't wait for that.  I have yet to play a Schafer game that disappointed.

Lots of business card exchanging going on.  Was kinda funny, actually.  Not as many people there as previous E3s.  As usual, though, you find, even as a man, people are always starring at your chest -- to see what company is displayed on your badge.  HA!

I got my picture taken with ninja turtles.

And bunnies with midgets inside of them.  Sexy sounding midgets.

You lucky bastard, I wish I could have been there.
The games I am most exited about after E3 are: Brutal Legend, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Crackdown 2

I lucked out by living in Socal. No way I would have flown out, but that's just me. >.<

Splinter Cell: Conviction fo sho! And I'll probably get the new Silent Hill, as well, but the demo they had was pretty dull. I didn't get a chance to check out Crackdown 2 while I was there, but that looks rad. I don't know what I'm going to do with my time any more... Honestly, this was a great E3, but definitely an overload. Even the so-so games looked hot, though I wish I had given more of them a play test.

Oh, and I have to mention for the Nintendo DS!!! It's a puzzle game where you write down the names of objects to spawn them in and help you beat levels. The database is immense and has nearly limitless possibilities. You need to get an item from the top of a tree? Write down "ladder" and a ladder is spawned to climb up. Write down "helicopter" and you'll fly in a helicopter instead. "Football"? You kick a football and knock the item down. Simple and amazing.

Bastard. I haven't been to E3 in six years.

True story, I was there when GTV's Morgan just started X-Play (replacing that Kate chick), and I remember when she was on that show on TechTV called Screensavers so that's why I recognized her. Well, her and Adam come up to a game station near me and I say hi to Morgan.

I completely ignore Adam, which kind of ticked him off, I think, because he had been on the show for so long. Well anyway, like I was saying, I was playing the soon-to-be released Enter the Matrix game which kind of sucked, but, anyways, I raped her boobies in bullet time. The end. I never said it was a mature and/or good story. Accuracy, people. Accuracy.

I am and it was awesome! (Hilarious story, btw.) This was only my second time going to E3 so I still feel warm and fuzzy when I'm there. Does anyone actually watch G4 any more? I mean, aside from watching that purdy lady.

Funny that you should mention Enter the Matrix, I guess it's finally being shut down in July. There are at least 10 people who are going to be really upset about that.
