After looking into it and getting some context for the video (http://videosift.com/video/Reporter-s-Stuck-on-Stupid-Long-version-with-context) I would have to disagree with you there.

He is ignoring inflammatory questions that ask why what they're doing now wasn't done during the last storm. He was ignoring these questions because they were not pertinent to the current situation, and he did not want to the reporters to side-track the press conference from one which is divulging important safety information into a press conference talking about how angry people are about what happened 5 years ago.

Hurricane Katrina hit the New Orleans area on 8/29/05.

Hurricane Rita hit west Louisiana around 9/24/05. This press conference (in New Orleans) is happening prior to Rita making landfall - when the storm's exact course was in flux.

It is surprising hard to get the right information out at the right time in these time-critical situations. That was precisely one of the things that lead to the Katrina-mess in the first place. If you've got a city full of people to think about, where every last one needs to hear the correct message, bringing up what happened when everything went wrong in the same situation months earlier, is not going to be helpful. There is a time and place to evaluate what went wrong the last time, but thats not in the middle of a new storm.

What you're looking at is a man who gets stuff done. He knows his mission, the objective is in sight and any pathetic opposition you present is not going to slow him down. You either get on board, get out of the way or get run over. I love these guys.

Reporters only seem to care about inflating what ever is the most upsetting or dramatic so they can spin out 24 hours of infotainment.. but completely forget to collect actual facts so they can 'report' the 'news'.
