WH Press Sec. Takes Cellphones From A-hole Reporters

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs takes ringing cellphone from reporter [John Gizzi] during briefing.

Another elite dumbass reporter who's phone starts ringing, walks out of the room.

The "4th Estate" are a bunch of fucking self-centered assholes.

Who was the arrogant twat that took the call and just started talking? Even if he was anticipating an important phonecall he could have just put it on vibrate and left discretely to call back; instead he took the call and just ignored the press secretary. What a dick.

chtierna: I agree. They should have arrested him and had him waterboarded.

Okay not really, torture is SERIOUS BUSINESS. But so is a fucking press meeting. TURN YOUR FUCKING PHONES OFF! Jesus christ, it's not rocket science!

If I was the press secretary, that guy would never be allowed in a Press Briefing again. Blatant disrespect at that level in the profession? Absolutely intolerable.

Gibbs handled it very well. Afterwards, however, they should make it clear that anyone with a ringing phone will receive a temporary ban.

They really are worse than college students, at least in the one I'm currently at. The only time I remember hearing one go off, is when the student has gone to the instructor, and directly told them that the phone will be on due to a personal/family/etc emergency. We have a 0 ring policy, phones can be on vibrate at all times for non-emergency calls if you feel that it's that important, leave the class and conduct the call outside.
