Any veteran i ever met who actually saw combat has been typically quite reticent to talk about it or even be public about their service.
The ones waiving the flag and advertising their service seem to invariably be rear-echelon-motherfuckers who never fired a shot, but are, opinion-wise, lock-step with the war mongering cowards we have for elected officials.
