Jim Breuer Flips Out During Pizza Hut Commercial

I wonder how long he's been standing there, saying that before it became too much.

I really wonder what the FUCK that asshole's problem was. What it some union thing?! Don't touch a man's pizza.

I don't think Breuer flipped. I would've acted similarly if some twat kept rollin' up on me, too.

It does seem a little to well setup and all, and it reeks of the Christian Bale tape. Also, what moron would keep rushing up to Bruer like that (or anyone for that matter) after being repeatedly told not to?

The guy was EXPECTING to go into the pool. Notice his body language anticipating and heading that direction, instead of trying to prevent it or keep your legs behind you if someone if going to push you.

Also look at the video cuts & edits. It is made to look like a handheld shot by someone behind the scenes, but the thing is all editted for impact and timing. Clearly viral with the fucking tag line repeated like four times.

So somebody help me....

I thought viral was something that got passed around uber-quickly. Viral marketing is Corporate America attempting to get "viral."

So does viral just mean fake now? Or just mean advertising?

Dramatic Groundhog was viral, wasn't it? But it wasn't advertising anything.

It will be a sad day if Corporate America has so infiltrated things that "viral" is no longer used for Drama Queen Groundhogs....

It means that Pizza Hut made and totally approved this video, so in the chance it can fool people online into thinking it's real and spread virally, much like dramatic chipmunk.

What really happens is that everyone does end up seeing it, but in a ironic twist it's all people on video blogs who think they're super awesome detectives for figuring out that a video has corporate approval. Then later that day they all make the conscious decision "all by themselves" to have Pizza Hit for dinner.

Do you really need to frame by frame analyze it to understand it's viral? Let's check the trajectory angles and velocity of the "dive".
ffs .. I'm pretty sure they'd let Jim have a slice if he was hungry, lol.

I understood that. I knew that the first time he wanted to take a bite of the za and was refused. Lame, is I believe the correct adjective.

What was confusing me is that most people posting comments were just saying "viral" -- as if viral meant advertising. Which means that the word "viral" has been opted and no longer usable for Dramatic Chipmunks.

Well, language does evolve. Personally, I am sorry that Corporate America has apparently successfully and quickly stolen that word.

I'll get over it.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag.(show it anyway)

"viral" can mean a video that spreads by word-of-mouth, but in this case when people say "viral" it's shorthand for "viral marketing". I actually enjoy viral marketing attempts - because the it's fun to watch them try and pull it off.

I would enjoy them more if I trusted most folks to know that they are being advertised to. But I fear they don't.

as ponchi70 said ^ Then later that day they all make the conscious decision "all by themselves" to have Pizza Hit for dinner.

It's like advertising during cartoons -- the kids can't tell the difference between the cartoons and the ads.

Which reminds me.... several years ago, a friend of mine was ironing with the TV going. She became aware that the droning sound in the background to the Saturday morning advertisement was a robotic, low pitched, repetitive "star trek star trek star trek." Almost unrecognizable -- but working on a subliminal level.

So when "viral" is co-opted by "viral advertising"... I get worried about mind invasion by Corporate America. We are already saturated with ads.

Oh well. Think Bladerunner and just sigh, I guess.

Actually, when looking up the phrase "pizza hut viral" on Google, to see what the rest of the interwebs think, I came across this one also considered to be a Pizza Hut viral ad.

I need to work on distrusting the internet more, it seems.

Predictable advertising is predictable... Why make any other kind of advertising than viral marketing? Advertising departments don't even need to try to hide it. The more we think about how we're aware that it's viral marketing, the more we forget that it still is advertising something in our face.
