Interpreting Inception

Richard Roeper briefly goes over some of the various interpretations people are taking out of the movie Inception. Obviously this brief talk contains spoilers, so do not watch this until you have seen the movie.

I thought the movie was great and thought provoking.

I agree.
Intelligent, well written, well shot, well acted, complex, well resolved.
I rate this three thumbs up.

Totally, a movie that leaves you talking is better than 9/10s of whats out there. Mostly, when I leave a theater my mind is asleep and I wish to take a nap. When I left this movie, like I did Matrix, I was charged with mind juices fleshing out other possible scenarios. I wish they had more money, and I wish there were 3

Just saw this today and I LOVED it.
Roeper has some good interpretations going there. I like to think that the first one is the right one, but the kids at the end did have me wondering - and the top did keep on spinning for a long, long time at the end.

I'm in favor of the first interpretation, which, I think, stays pretty close to what the movie actually tells us. It's fairly clear what is a dream and what is real, except for the last brilliant scene where the whole cinema is willing that stupid thing to fall over. That one is intentionally ambiguous of course. But I'd like to think it's the real world. Or, at least, as real as that world is in the first place.

Finally getting around to seeing this. I like mental puzzling over multiple interpretations of fascinating movies, but I, too, think the first explanation in this video is definitely correct.

I agree with direpickle. Everything in the movie is presented clearly. I've always been annoyed that people are coming up with alternate theories for the movie. If the ending were a dream, the top would not have wobbled at all, and it does just before the final cut...sooooo..why are we talking about this?
