Glenn Beck Stunned to Find Out People Don't Like Him

What do they say about people who live in glass houses again ?
albrite30says...

Grow some fucking balls you hypocrite. You make baseless accusations all the time that are blatant attempts to hurt other people and their families. So sack up you piece of S. If someone is saying shit to you in public that isn't right, you have an obligation to yourself to stand up to them and have courage in the face of their ignorance. But you have proven once again that you would prefer pity and false sympathy than the satisfaction of bravery in the moment.

I don't think people should harass your family, but you on the other hand have it coming in spades.

"Think of my wife, my children!"

Uh, you should have, before being such a hateful, fear-mongering, conspiracy-theoring, ignorant a-hole.

That being said, if people did yell "we hate conservatives/republicans" while pointing at them then they, too, were being bigass douchebags.

Also, GB is a whiny whiny victim. He could have answered something like "how very mature of you" to the haters (that is, if the story isn't pure fiction), but instead revels in the whiny joy of making a TV soap of it.

westysays...

lol what a moron , obviously people in the park if what he says is true were moronic as well , but at least they were not moronic on a huge TV station and getting paid thousands of dollars to spread hate and idiocy to a national audeance.

thing is if your going to outright lie on tv and profit from it then you have to be insane not to expect some backlash from people that suffer on a daily baisis from the shit you spew and have far fewer choices in life .

ravermansays...

As a father with a family i empathize. Children shouldn't suffer the sins of their parents.

However, as Beck has called for tea party members to behave exactly this way... to protest, seek out, and victimize their 'enemies'...

Hollow pity for reaping what you sow.

"We hate Republicans" doesn't sound like something a drunk New Yorker would yell at anyone. I would expect either something more intelligent or thought-out; or something far more crude, crazy and offensive. Also, despite being a 'blue state', there are shitloads of conservatives and Republicans in NY.

"We hate Republicans" is just way too... medium. That's not how we do shit in NY.

To be honest I'm a little ashamed to see some of these comments. Yes, GB is a hate mongering, lying, profiteering jack ass who wouldn't know reality if it spit in is face. That doesn't mean that his wife is. Or his daughter, or her boyfriend. Just because he may have had it coming, that doesn't mean his family does. Even if they do all deserve it, then what? Will you stoop to his level and proceed to make complete jackasses of yourselves for a brief moment of self satisfaction at verbally stoning a man in public? I'd like to believe (though I doubt it) that I'd have the courage to stand up and tell off those various idiots for becoming everything that they claim to dislike about him. Afterwards making it abundantly clear to him that I can't stand him or most anything that his pie hole has spouted in the past several years. But we at least know how to treat our fellow human beings and Americans, even if he doesn't.

citosays...

he should have went postal and mowed them all down with an AK

We love our guns hehe

He goes overboard, but he's right on many topics he just overdramatizes the topics which hurts his position even though he is right much of the time

just like Ron Paul, Ron Paul says the same stuff, but with less melodramatics. That's why Ron Paul is amazing imo. I wish we could get him as president and abolish the fed, and to end the era of "the new deal" that socialized everything when the country went bankrupt. I'll vote for Ron Paul to his end, but sadly in this type of world where the sheep is led by the media it will never happen.

The famous speech in the movie Network is 100% correct for all mass media and newspapers, there is no such thing as journalism anymore. it's 100% opinion pieces now and facts are never reported anymore. Long ago you could turn on radio or tv and news was just that news... but they wanted to get to the younger generation and they thought of news as boring... facts are always boring to the kids, so the era of opinionated news began. And it's all went downhill since.

I vote this is the most succinct comment anywhere on the interwebs, pertaining to this video/subject.

Totally agree. I'd feel total sympathy for Beck if he'd acknowledge his actions have helped to cause this kind of behavior, and now he understands the error of his ways.

If what he's saying is true, the people around him are just as bad as he is, but he needs to also accept responsibility and change his ways. But oh no, that's not gonna happen. Let's play the sympathy card, and demonize these heathens for what they did, so he can be justified for continuing the same vitriol he's been spewing for years.

Despicable...

I agree with the majority of comments and sentiments of "the people of the sift," but if I had a controversial political talk show, and you fucked with my family during movie night at the park... because you don't like what I say on my TELEVISION TALK SHOW!... I would stab you in the face with a soldering iron. Walken style.

Someone who was actually there wrote into NY Mag to give their account of the situation: http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/06/new_yorkers_turned_on_glenn_be.ht

I'm inclined to believe the writer. Glenn Beck has a history of making mountains out of molehills. Or just straight up inventing bullshit.

I believe her too. I believe her simply because her story seems much more realistic. And in my opinion, the people who write-in to newspapers are not the kind of people who dump wine on people they dont like.

I did think the comment at the top of the NY comments was funny though:

"Another liberal liar. And hypocrite. This includes the rest of the elite, arrogant, mindless apologists who make it sound like this ignorant woman purposely throwing wine on someone is no big deal. Your hatred has consumed you into that which you hate. She is lying so quit making excuses or downplaying the incident. Everyone knows that if this happened to Maddow or Olbermann, you would be spewing hatred against the wine throwers, probably calling for their death while using terms like racist and homophobe. And of course you like to hang out at these liberal websites which support liars and have no qualms about printing lies as long as it is against someone you hate."

It's the mindset of "It's just business." If someone does it because they want to do it and act like he does on TV they are deranged. However if that person gets paid for it, business-men like themselves can see their motives (Money).

I mean can't you understand that they are getting 7 digit salaries to act like a complete asshole? Wouldn't you do that if were offered that kind of money? Why can't people understand it's business, it doesn't reflect his TRUE beliefs, morality, etc etc etc.

And they just keep telling themselves that until someone gets tired of them harping at them one too many times and pretending like they didn't just insult them for cash. Somehow they are supposed to keep their "Im a human too" card, but get to behave however they want.

If he didn't have people to take care of shit for him in a semi-anonymous fashion with lawyers to back them up if something gets squirrely...I think Beck would have a hard time operating on a daily basis when he's likely offended/insulted every other person out there. Would you like spit in that coffee?

As for the wife, she married, stayed married and had a kid with this guy.....no one in their right mind can say that she doesn't know what her husband does on a daily basis like he's some kind of secretive mobster.

Daughter......perhaps she is so far removed from reality through his money that she thinks it's normal, but I still find that hard to believe. It'd be pretty hard not to see your father on TV crying, ranting, drawing weird circular chalk diagrams plus doing gold investment commercials and not get a pretty good idea of what he does. So, either she has the "it's just business" mindset down, or she's a nut too.

And the boyfriend? Dunno if his daughter is hot, but hey girl with a rich family......he probably has the "I do it for the money, not because I agree with it." mindset down.

But, I think he just uses a played up version of events to make him look "right". I mean he doesn't mention his security at all. And if he has security, he knows there's the potential for people to decide his face needs a few more lumps.

No. That's why I work 60+ hour weeks teaching for a salary that's <30k a year. Because I'm not a whore.

Porksandwichsays...

Well you are obviously not a "business man", money is everything. And yes, that whole "It's just business" line bugs the hell out of me...let's people justify a lot of clearly wrong behavior sometimes even legally wrong.
