GPS-tagged trash flies around North America

Dietmar Offenhuber and his team at MIT attached location sensors to 3000 pieces of trash to see where the garbage ended up months later.

This video won The National Science Foundation's Visualization Challenge 2011 in the class for non-interactive media.
