Extraordinary Gorilla Encounter

In the African jungle, conservationist Damian Aspinall searches for Kwibi, a lowland gorilla he hasn't seen for 5 years. Kwibi grew up with Damian at his Howletts Wild Animal Park in England. When he was five, he was released into the forests of Gabon, West Africa as part of conservation programme to re-introduce gorillas back into the wild. Now Kwibi's 10 years old, much bigger and stronger. Will Damian find him? Will Kwibi attack him?-YT

As beautiful and heartwarming as it is, it also breaks my heart that they would break his heart like that just to see if he had remembered the guy. That's terrible.

Now that he can snap your back like a twig, you BETTER hope he remembers you as the Man in the Yellow Hat. If you look anything like that dude last week with the gun...

That is just gorgeous. Lucky I think you're looking at this the wrong way, it's not so much just them wanting to see if he remembered him, it's more one man wanting to see his friend after many years. Yes it made the gorilla sad, but probably also made him very happy too.

Something is wrong with that embed. Halfway through, it got all blurry and made my eyes hurt. They got all watery for some reason.

Amazing, amazing video.

Very cool. Experiences like these have to teach us (humans) that as much as we like to think of ourselves as the pinnacle of evolution, other animals share or at the very least approach some of the traits we view as uniquely or even divinely human.
