Exquisitely organized cables

I found out today there are _cabling contractors_ who are hired to spend hundreds of hours organizing cables in server rooms. Cool.

Its not limited to 1 pc 1 cable....these could just be patches between another patch panel. So...2+ cables (and it connects into another device at the end...)

This seems like either a large data center, OR, an access network at a point-to-point fiber system (active ethernet).

Either case, you dont typically use CAT6 to patch panels. Its way too rigid to work with, without giving up your sanity. Especially a job with that scale.

Impressive none-the-less.

If that is actually cat 6 ill eat my hat. FUCK organising cat6 cable.

I agree with your sentiment, however if you watch in 720p and pause a couple of times between 0:34 and 0:36 you can see "CAT 6 UTP" printed on some of the cables.

Sorry, hope your hat is tasty.

Well, that is clearly the in-wall "premise" wiring, and is fairly permanent tested and won't require replacing when failed. The wire itself should never fail, just the punching on either end.

You are looking at the back of the patch panels not the front sides. Very clean, and a job well done. Agreed, if those are Cat6, they are a real bitch to work with. But that would explain why the cables are holding their bend radius so nicely due to the plastic insert that runs down the center of Cat6 cables.

You should look at mine. It looks like a rat nest.

Ha! I've got you beat. I had to move my cable spaghetti a few months back and there was a dead mouse in there (no, not the kind with buttons and an optical sensor underneath, the furry kind).

I've worked in telecom for 20 years, and visit our switch rooms now and then. Organized wiring like this is a staple of good switch room / data centers. This example is really nice !! Those cables should be tied with twine though, not tie wraps.
