honkeytonk73says...The Roman Empire was full of itself and thought it was unsinkable, all powerful, and would last for an eternity. Their own hubris led to their empires demise. They were their own worst enemy. Very much similar to what goes on today in today's global empires. Ultimately they will collapse in on themselves. Nothing lasts forever.
geo321says...I've never discovered anyone with better insight on foreign policy than Chomsky.
14455says...Mr. Chomsky paints Israel and America as the only villains here. Hamas has launched missiles into Israel for months, but that is perfectly okay, I guess.
Terrorizing Israelis with missiles doesn't merit any response? The argument that Mr. Chomsky makes regarding Israel preparing for this action in advance only shows the wisdom of their government to calculate and assess and plan before launching an attack. What nation wouldn't do that? Hamas has brought this destruction upon the people of Gaza. Hamas is the problem, but for some reason, Mr. Chomsky only wants to blame Israel and America. One-sided arguments sound like propaganda to me, regardless of the speaker's eloquence.
