Video Flagged Dead

Call Of Duty Is Nothing Like The Real Thing

Interesting War Porn. Might be NSFW because its loud etc.

"This clip, posted on military site TheBrigade.com, depicts a US infantry squad in combat in Afghanistan. Thanks to the camera's vantage point instant parallels can be drawn with first-person shooter games."

i'm gonna assume it's so everyone's position isn't given away. notice they only fire when told to.

i'm more amazed he could stand up so much and not worry about being shot at.

i hope that soldier that got shot in the head survived.

I dont get it.. this is exactly how I play cod.. take cover and let my pals eat up the lead.

Voodoo, its just a mini grenade launcher so I imagine it is light and functional only. My question was what was it shooting? I didn't hear any exploding grenades nore did I see any unusual amount of smoke.

Also where is the rest of it? I mean, of any type of skermish, this video shows all the boring parts.

What kind of gun was that guy using? That wasn't an M203 was it? for some reason, the gun looked like this cheap plastic piece of crap.

It looks an aweful lot like our AG36, so I would say it's the US Army version, an M320.

Actually the title is wrong, I am amazed how much this looks exactly like call of duty (including the way I play it, just randomly start shooting in the direction the bullets come from, even if it means shooting passing team mates).

Reminds me a lot of the sniper sequence in The Hurt Locker, and how silly computer games and roleplaying games are. They sit there for what seems to be hours, watching and waiting, because they have no clue 1) how many sniper teams are out there and 2) if they managed to hurt those they've spotted enough to end their threat. As this video shows, there's no *plink* of experience points once a kill has been established. I found it really hard to go back to playing Fallout 3 and other games after watching the film.

Honestly, I have no idea. Of all the combat training I've had, I've never heard of any tactics like that. They should have been leap frogging to to close with, engage, and destroy the enemy. Obviously they can't see shit through those trees, so they can either waste all of their ammo, or actually find a target and kill it. >> ^TheSluiceGate:

Does anyone understand why the POV guy appeared to do all the running and shooting and the others all just stuck to the ground?

DON'T RUN IN FRONT OF THE POINTED GUNS! Damn, isn't that like rule number one. Fear is a bitch.

Rule number 1 is dont stand out in the open.

Well I agree with that too. Just cause the cool guys in the movies don't take cover doesn't give you the ability (and right) to do it.

@MarineGunrock said what I was thinking as well. WTF were they doing? They could have at least flanked right or left "and made sure" they weren't about to get squeezed. It felt like a trap (or as I put it; I like to start the firing, because you have the "very" least of operational info.: where things are.).

I played CoD for the first time the other day, I realized after the the first few minutes that it was nothing at all like real battle.

The skull over my head that gives me away to the enemy is real annoying...

Also eat their hearts, to gain their courage. Their rich, tasty courage.
