dbot2006says...What a sweet sweet sift.
SlipperyPetesays...clearly that's not god's wrath - if it were, there would have been a locust appetizer.
Paybacksays...There was a meteor? I was too busy watching the dude in the bear suit get whacked by that semi.
jubuttibsays...I just love the way those things can turn night into day for a small instant.
Keanu_Reevessays...Whoa.
Xaielaosays...I saw a meteor come through our atmosphere when I was in my early 20's, though not with quite so bright a finish. Was walking home with a few friends at night and and we saw a really bright point of light that changed various colors, green, read, orange and it lit up the night (and frankly was headed directly our way, we didn't see it from an angle so it looked more like it was at a very low angle.)
We basically all went 'woh' and one friend of mine thought it was a UFO. But I knew it was just a pretty large meteor screaming through the atmosphere and burning up. Quite a site to see with the naked eye.
deathcowsays...As an amateur astronomer, I have spent hundreds of hours "looking up" and have seen nothing which competes with that!! I did see one fine meteor which broke into pieces which could be seen to be tumbling (though "instantaneously" fast also). It just wasnt quite as glorious as that. Another time, I was standing in my kitchen with my wife once and the back windows all lit up like daytime. We learned it was a meteor crashed North of us but we did not see the trail, only the momentary daytime.
DrivelsAdvocatesays...I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords and hope that their stay will be a pleasant one.
ChosenOnesays...Paging Hal Jordan..
