Aston Martin Rapide show off fail

That WAS a nice car. Then he pushed A WRONG BUTTON? Holy crap!

Cars.failblog.org: Surfboard designer Roberto Ricci took his Aston Martin Rapide luxury sedan and a friend to film him on the road and crashed (at about 1:00). Turns out the crash was caused by Ricci disengaging the electronic stability control system, which made a crash basically inevitable at those speeds. Protip: if your car has a “make car drive worse and probably lose control” button, DON’T PUSH THAT BUTTON.

"Yeah so, I fucked up my aston martin tryin' to drift it. Insurance covers that, right?"

Tho.. don't you kinda want "Stability" when making a turn like that or.. on a straight away ..or for anything you do while in the car, really.

Here's the problem; that button (unless I'm mistaken) is to stop the rear wheels from spinning out when you apply too much gas. Sort of like traction control for middle aged men that over compensate by pushing the gas pedal to the floor all the time to hear their cars go ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR.

So basically an experienced driver knows when you are trying to accelerate you apply the gas firmly and in a controlled manner. If you're trying to take a turn you don't PUNCH the gas you stay steady on. If you PUNCH the gas in a turn (as this guy did) your rear wheels will spin and you will lose all traction and the rear end will slide out and well you saw what happened next.

If you're going to turn off all the computerized stuff that makes you look like you know what you're doing in a big car like this; at least take it slow, or you'll be a jackass like this guy.

No, not stopping rear wheel spinning. ESP works on all wheels by controlled, short usage of brakes.

btw: never trust anyone except professional racing drivers or germans with going at high speeds in cars. Those are the only ones used to it :-P
