Abercrombie & Fitch Get a Brand Readjustment

Via Tastefully Offensive: In response to Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries not wanting "not so cool" kids or women who wear size large to wear his company's clothes, Greg Karber has come up with a funny and creative way to readjust the Abercrombie & Fitch brand.

He's giving their clothes to the homeless.

After scouring his local thrift shop's "douchebag section," Karber heads to LA's Skid Row to dole out the clothes among the homeless population. Watch the stunt and find out how you can be involved in one man's troll-job on a company with some pretty unflattering business practices in the video above.

I never wear stylish or cool clothes, but the guy in this video is about as weak as you can get. If he ran the world, it would be illegal for a clothing company not to make clothes in all sizes. Anybody notice how liberals are becoming more and more like nazis?

So... he wants to degrade a brand by giving it to homeless, who are (sadly) perceived as the lowest of the human kind? Like... cool kids don't want to wear AF because homeless people wear it. Am i the only one who feels a dissonance between the purpose and the method? If you don't like AF just don't buy it. If you really want to go gorilla, buy a can of red paint and fucking smear it all over the AF shop...

For goodness' sake, doesn't anyone see that this is playing into A&F's marketing plan? All this outrage and uproar, and the net effect is "Abercrombie and Fitch make clothes for beautiful people. If you are wearing these clothes, then you are one of the cool kids; so buy these clothes and people with think you're beautiful and cool".

I had the same thought. Funny, amusing, but really? A&F is demeaning to fat people and the not-so-cool kids... So you're sticking it to A&F by demeaning homeless people? Hmmm...

Yes, it's important that we fight to get larger girls this specific brand of clothing... while ironically playing a fun clothing game with people who probably really need any kind of clothing.

Talk about douchebags.

How about you put all that energy into just clothing the homeless for their sake in the name of charity and good will, rather than dehumanizing and objectifying them as mannequins in your carnival of vengeance.

Mordhaussays...

If I am ever homeless and some dude hands me an A&F article of clothing, I'm selling that sucker to the first person who will buy it.

If he wanted to troll A&F and really help homeless people, he should have paid them to carry anti-A&F slogan signs for a day. It certainly would have done more than his money supporting Goodwill, who is worse than A&F any day of the week.

Seriously, Goodwill exploits a Great Depression minimum wage loophole for disabled people. They pay these people in the neighborhood of 1.40 an hour and yet executives can take home high 6 figure to low 7 figure salaries, not to mention special travel and other compensation benefits.

Thank you.
