This kind of trailer is history in the making. It was an incredibly potent ad for paramount picture to promote a movie that no one knows the name off. Got a lot of buzz generated from it.

I'm so over the J.J. Abrams hype.
He's the next M. Night Shamalamadingdong, and I don't mean that as a compliment.

I don't think it'll be "cool" to watch New York get blown up again, even by Cthulhu.

i remember seeing this trailer in theaters and everyone got real worked up and excited. It played great.

The bummer is that no matter how good this film could possibly be, the advanced hype has raised expectations such that only live footage of Cthulhu actually destroying New York could meet them...

JJ Abrahams always give us these cliffhangers. Look at Alias and Lost.

Good god! Cthulu?? OMG is this a lovecraftian monster movie? Nyarlothotep or Shub-Niggaruth or something?

A quick check on Wikipedia, looks like most lovecraftian stuff isn't necessarily giant.

Anyway, it'd still be awesome. ANybody else here ever read "A Colder War" by Charles Stross? Wicked stuff.
